Meet our Executive team

Maria Lykouras


Maria joined JBWere in July 2022 as Executive, JBWere, bringing over 23 years’ experience as a widely-respected executive leader in the financial services sector. During her time managing Advice businesses, she has successfully delivered sustainable growth, strong risk and governance and productivity improvements across all areas of wealth management. 

Maria joined JBWere having spent the last 10 years with CBA, where she led the CommPrivate Advice Business as General Manager, Advice. She has also worked across strategic risk, compliance and advisory roles at BT Financial Group, Count Financial, Australia Skandia, ipac and Citibank.

Andrew Bird


Andrew joined JBWere in September 2016, bringing more than 30 years of experience in roles across Melbourne, Tokyo, London, Jakarta and Singapore. He has worked in leading Australian and International institutions, including ANZ, McCaughan, Schroder’s, Citi Private Bank, Credit Suisse and UBS.

Andrew has managed teams in varied cultural and regulatory environments and has contributed to the success of large-scale change projects that have required in-depth knowledge of client, adviser and product complexities.

Sally Auld


Sally is the Chief Investment Officer at JBWere and leads the Investment Strategy Group, a team of investment specialists. She is responsible for views on the economic and policy outlook and works closely with JBWere's Asset Allocation team on setting the firm's Strategic Asset Allocation.

Sally joined JBWere in September 2020 from JP Morgan where she was Managing Director, Chief Economist and Head of Economic and Markets Research, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to this, Sally worked at ANZ and Credit Suisse and has over 20 years experience in financial markets. 

She is Deputy Chair of the Council of The Women’s College, Chair of the SCEGGS Darlinghurst Ltd. Board and a member of the Finance and Investments Committee for the Children’s Medical Research Institute and a member of the RBA Shadow Board.

Sally has a Bachelor of Economics with First Class Honours and the University Medal in Economics from the University of Sydney. She also holds a Masters of Economics degree and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Economics at Oxford University.

Shamal Dass


Shamal leads the Philanthropic Services and Family Advisory business, which provides tailored governance, strategy and leadership advice to for-purpose organisations and private clients.  

Shamal is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Centre for Social Impact, University of NSW Business School, and teaches the Governance for Social Impact course, which he co-created, at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). He currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of ARACY, Two Good Foundation, Earthwatch Institute Australia, and The Constellation Project.

Kirsty Fraser


Kirsty joined JBWere in 2017 from NAB Private where she had been a private client executive for over 5 years. Kirsty has had more than 30 years’ industry experience across market, stockbroking, advice and private banking. She has previously held roles in private banking and advice across Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch and UBS.

Damian Robinson


Damian joined JBWere in 2016, holding senior roles including Executive Director, Head of Advice for VIC/TAS and Head of Advice for NSW/QLD. He has had more than 28 years’ experience in wealth management working at Deutsche Bank, Ord Minnett and Morgan Stanley.

Lee Mowat


Lee joined JBWere in late 2021 and has more than 20 years of experience across the financial services industry including banking and financial advice. She has held leadership positions managing teams at Westpac and CBA, the most recent in Commonwealth Financial Planning and Commonwealth Private.

Doug Picken


Doug joined JBWere in 2020 from NAB where he managed markets distribution into the business and private bank. He has experience spanning more than 19 years across financial markets and has held senior roles in trading, wealth management and distribution with UK, US & Australian financial institutions.

Barbara Di Labio


Barbara has a dual role in managing Private Banking WA, and was appointed into the Head of Advice WA & SA in August 2021. She has had a long and successful career in Banking over 30 years in NAB of which the last 15 years have been in Private Banking business. 

Alistair Cowan


Alistair joined JBWere in 2019 and has more than 13 years’ experience in financial markets, wholesale banking, wealth management and broking businesses across the UK and Australia. He is currently a Responsible Manager for JBWere’s AFSL and also manages the advice support teams across JBWere’s SA and WA offices.
